THE LAPERLE PROCESS FOR COMMERCIAL INTERIOR PAINTING

At Laperle Painting we employ a systematic approach to consistently deliver high quality. Below are the general steps we take on our projects. Your situation may vary depending upon your needs as outlined on your Proposal.

Set-up

Items are placed in the center of the room and covered with clean, new plastic sheeting. All floors are protected with drop cloths.

Prepare

Thorough preparation is the Laperle Standard. Holes and cracks in ceilings and walls are filled; stains are sealed and surfaces are scuff sanded to enable proper paint adhesion.

Walls: Wallpaper is removed, settling cracks are repaired and fiberglass seam tape is applied as necessary. Multiple layers of plaster compound are applied and sanded where needed to create a clean and prepared surface.

Caulking is applied where walls meet all casements, baseboards and moldings.

Woodwork: Surface is cleaned and sanded thoroughly to remove paint or enamel gloss. A bead of caulking in all seams and cracks in woodwork is applied and where wood meets plaster. Holes are filled with putty. One coat of oil-based primer / sealer is applied to bare wood on previously painted woodwork and on new raw woodwork.

Ceilings: Settling cracks are repaired and fiberglass seam tape applied along with multiple layers of plaster compound. Area is sanded to prepare a clean surface for painting.

Closets and Built-ins: Projects can include closets as well as cabinetry, shelving and custom built-ins.

Inspect Site

Thorough preparation is the Laperle Standard. Inspect for wood or material damage. Holes and cracks are filled; stains are sealed and surfaces are scuff sanded to enable proper paint adhesion.

Paint

Repaired areas are sealed and / or primed. Finish coats of premium quality paint are applied to a uniform finish by using different techniques, including brush, roller and airless spray applications.

Clean

All of our materials are removed. Floors and carpets are vacuumed and swept. Furniture and accessories are moved back to their desired locations.

Post Work Inspection

After our own inspection, we ask that you review the project with us to inspect our work.
